Ostwig
In the Elpe valley, close to the point, where the Elpe joins the Ruhr river, is where you will find holiday village Ostwig. Slate-tiled half-timber houses and farm houses characterize the historic village.
Ostwig is located on the Sauerland hiking route and in the popular Ruhr valley, is one of the most beautiful villages in Sauerland, has been awarded a district prize, participating in the "Unser Dorf hat Zukunft" competition (can be compared with Great Britain's Best Kept village competition) and has been a state approved recreation village since 1995.
